On March 24, 2008, the Presidents of Lewis-Clark State College, North Idaho College, Northwest Indian College, the University of Idaho, and Washington State University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that committed the institutions to collaborate on Native American programming. Signed at the Nez Perce National Historical Park on the Nez Perce reservation, the MOU ceated a Native American Collaborations Committee (NACC). NACC includes representatives from the academic and student services areas from each of the five signatory schools. Those representatives work together on recruting and retaining Native American students, making American Indian Studies classes more readily available and accessible, and the like.
