Your insurance coverage under the State sponsored plan ends when your active status ends:
When employees leave State service, all accrued and unused sick leave will be forfeited, except as provided in Idaho Code § 67-5333 (i.e., separation due to retirement).
If an employee returns to credited state service within three (3) years of separation, all sick leave forfeited at time of separation will be reinstated.
When an employee leaves State service, all accrued and unused vacation leave will be paid to the employee in his/her final paycheck. Vacation payout is calculated based on the employee's permanent hourly rate of pay on the effective date of separation.
You also have the option of investing your vacation leave.
Employees who received moving expense reimbursements and voluntarily resign within one year of the official beginning date of employment, will be required to pay back 100% of any moving cost expense reimbursement(s) received. Please contact the Budget Office at 792-2361 for futher information.

Medicare Supplemental, Advantage or Part D
The Office of Group Insurance has agreements with the insurance carriers listed below to allow state retirees age 65 and over to use sick leave funds to pay premiums for Medicare Supplemental, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D plans.
If you are interested in obtaining information about plans available and premium rates from these carriers, contact the carriers directly during their regular office hours listed below. When you enroll, be sure to tell your carrier that you want the premium deducted from your sick leave funds so that they can include you on their monthly billings to PERSI.
