What is Read&Write?

LCSC students, faculty and staff have FREE access to Read&Write, an award-winning literacy software tool that can help students improve reading, writing, research and study skills. Read&Write is a big confidence booster for anyone who needs a little support with their reading and writing, at school or in the workplace. And its friendly literacy features help English Language Learners, as well as people with learning difficulties or those requiring dyslexia tools.

From hearing emails or documents read out loud to text prediction, picture dictionaries, summary highlighters and a grammar, spelling and confusable words checker, Read&Write makes many everyday literacy tasks simpler, quicker and more accurate.

How do I get Read&Write?

Read&Write is available for use on your personal Windows or Mac computer, and also on Android or iOS devices.

  1. Open a Web browser and go to LCSC WarriorWeb
  2. Enter your LCSC user ID and password
  3. Choose Student from the main menu
  4. Choose Student Planning and Registration under Registration/Student Planning sub-menu
  5. Open Helpful Links from the rigth hand menu
  6. Choose Read&Write Learning Assistance Tool
  7. Follow the instructions below for PC or Mac to download and install the software on your personal computer

  1. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store and search Read&Write (no spaces), then install the app
  2. After the app is installed on your device, open the app
  3. You will be brought to a Welcome Screen, here you will tap Start Setup Wizard
  4. Tap Enable Keyboard
  5. Tap Make Default
  6. Choose: ‘Yes I am an existing Read&Write customer’, then tap Next Step
  7. Enter in LCSC’s serial number- 440551445879047223 
  8. Choose the options that you would like the program to do, then you are finished
